The Government defends the marked social profile of the PGE and sees "very difficult" for the parties to vote against

He hopes that the changes in the Government will give "tranquility and calm" to Catalonia

MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government spokeswoman, Isabel Rodríguez, has defended this Tuesday that the project of the General State Budgets (PGE) for 2023 that the Executive presented last week has a marked social profile and therefore considers that it is "very difficult" that the rest of political forces, specifically ERC, is opposed to its approval in Parliament.

In the press conference after the Council of Ministers that was held this Tuesday in La Moncloa, he pointed out that the parliamentary process and the negotiation of the Budgets are now beginning and that the Government intends to carry them forward with a "large majority" , as transferred.

Thus, he has argued that they are accounts that will allow the country to address the current situation and have a "social profile" that, in his opinion, will make it "very difficult" for groups to oppose.

Rodríguez has expressed himself in this way when asked about the current situation in Catalonia --with the rupture between ERC and Junts in the Government-- and if this is affecting the negotiation of the PGE with the Republican party.

With regard to Catalonia, Isabel Rodríguez has expressed the Government's "maximum respect" for the situation in this autonomous community and has indicated that she hopes that the changes made by the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, "give tranquility and calm" and "contribute to stability in Catalonia".

In addition, he has indicated that through the PGE the Government is going to contribute budgetary with Catalonia and with the rest of the autonomous communities, as well as with "institutional loyalty". Along the same lines, he has maintained that the accounts that the Government has projected for 2023 are those that include the largest contribution "that the Autonomous Communities have never had", he has finished.

On the other hand, the spokeswoman has criticized the opposition of the PP to the accounts, has indicated that she criticizes them even before knowing them and has underlined the effect that the increase in pensions has compared to the previous calculation method approved by the PP.

Thus, it has indicated that an average pension of 1,083 euros per month would have increased "150 euros per year" with the previous calculation, while now it will increase "2,100 euros" annually, as highlighted. "With a policy like this, which caters to the majority, there will be many difficulties for other parties to oppose," he settled.
