The Government allocates 540 million to the 200-euro check and expects it to benefit 2.7 million people

MADRID, 26 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government plans to allocate 540 million to the aid of 200 euros for workers, self-employed and unemployed with low incomes included in the royal decree-law approved this Saturday by the Council of Ministers and published this Sunday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The aid will consist of a single payment that will benefit 2.7 million people, according to estimates by the Executive.

To receive this aid, the beneficiaries must reside in households in which the sum of the income received by the cohabitants is less than 14,000 euros in 2021 and whose assets, discounting the habitual residence, do not exceed 43,196.40 euros.

The calculation of income and assets will be carried out jointly, considering all the people who reside with the beneficiary at the same address on January 1, 2022 "and are united by marriage or an analogous relationship of affection to the conjugal relationship with at least two years in advance or by kinship, up to the third degree, including those related, with any of the above, as well as other persons with whom any of the above lives by virtue of guardianship for the purpose of adoption or permanent foster care.

The beneficiaries must have legal and effective residence in Spain on the date of entry into force of the royal decree-law, which will be this Monday, June 27, and have had it continuously and uninterruptedly for at least the immediately preceding year.

Those who already receive the Minimum Vital Income or receive pensions from the General Regime and the special Social Security Regimes or from the State Passive Classes Regime are excluded from this aid.

For these groups, the Royal Decree-law already contemplates specific measures such as the extension of the 15% increase in the Minimum Vital Income or non-contributory pensions, which implies annual increases of more than 200 euros. And, in the case of contributory pensions, the Government guarantees the increase in line with inflation to ensure that there is no loss of purchasing power.

The request for this aid of 200 euros must be submitted to the Electronic Office of the State Tax Administration Agency by filling out an electronic form before September 30, 2022.
