The French Police arrest 68 people after the incidents of the Champions League final

MADRID, 29 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The French Prefecture of Police has reported this Sunday the arrest of 68 people after several hundred Liverpool fans tried to access the final of the 'Champions League' that was played this Saturday at the Stade de France with false tickets, and which has finally delayed the start of the match by half an hour.

One hour before the start of the game (9:00 p.m.), hundreds of Liverpool fans with false tickets tried to enter the stadium without success, since the turnstiles were not working, which caused a blockade due to the accumulation of fans trying to enter, according to explained the French Police in a statement.

As a result, the start of the match was delayed by 35 minutes to allow access to as many fans as possible with authentic tickets, UEFA said in a statement.

"UEFA stands in solidarity with those affected by these events and will urgently review these matters together with the French police and authorities, and with the French Football Federation," they added.

Liverpool, meanwhile, has assured that it has formally requested an investigation into the causes of these "unacceptable" events that some fans of his team took advantage of to go through the security controls.

The Madrid fans, on the other hand, showed their discontent after spending two hours inside the Stade de France without the match starting, in which Real Madrid finally beat Liverpool (0-1), thus proclaiming themselves champion of Europe for the fourteenth time in its history.
