MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Embassy of Morocco in Spain has carried out an awareness campaign through the twelve consulates that the kingdom has throughout the country to appeal for responsibility before the match that the Moroccan team will face against the Spanish in the World Cup in Qatar so that the celebrations do not leave the sports field.

In this sense, according to sources from the Embassy have reported to Europa Press, from the diplomatic legation a note of "awareness" has been sent to all the consulates --Madrid, Seville, Alicante, Murcia, Algeciras, Valencia, Tarragona, Gerona, Barcelona, Bilbao, Palma and Las Palmas-- to get this message across to Moroccan civil society.

The match has to be a "party" but "our pride and passion have to be limited to sport", while respecting safety and regulations, have stressed the sources, who have defended that the more than one million Moroccans residing in Spain are "a community of peace and tolerance".

The clash between Spain and Morocco in the round of 16 of the World Cup this Tuesday has sparked a campaign on social networks, with numerous memes included, fearing that the scenes of altercations and violence recorded in Belgium, where there were clashes with the forces of security and burned cars after the victory of the Moroccan team against the Belgian team in the group stage.

Both the Consulate in Seville and the one in Almería have published separate communications in line with what was requested with the Embassy. Thus, the man from Seville has appealed to the Moroccans in this city to "maintain the sporting spirit, noble values and responsible and exemplary behavior" after the game and to avoid crowded places so that there are no clashes.

The man from Almería has also conveyed a similar message, asking for "sensitivity" to avoid attitudes that could lead to "confrontations between supporters and fans" of both teams and to "avoid" possible "riots" while encouraging them to show "sportsmanship and good manners."
