The Court of Seville dismisses Griñán's appeal and gives a ten-day period for his admission to prison

The First Section of the Provincial Court of Seville has issued an order in which it dismisses the appeals filed by eight of those sentenced to jail for the ERE case, including the former Andalusian president José Antonio Griñán, to whom it gives ten days. for his admission to prison.

The order dismisses the appeals of the former senior officials of the Junta de Andalucía against the resolution in which the court denied suspending the custodial sentences while the pardon is being processed, requiring them, Griñán included, so that within the period of ten calendar days enter voluntarily in a penitentiary center.

The term will begin to count from this Friday, when the effective notification to the attorneys is produced, so the deadline ends on January 1.

In an order dated this Thursday, against which there is no appeal, the court dismisses the appeal filed by the defense of the former Deputy Minister of Employment Agustín Barberá but suspends his imprisonment until the suspension of the execution of the sentence requested is processed. for his defense based on article 80.4 of the Penal Code -which provides that judges and courts may grant the suspension of any sentence imposed without being subject to any requirement in the event that the prisoner is afflicted with a very serious illness with incurable conditions- , pending a report by the forensic doctor.

In this sense, the lawyer of this person under investigation made allegations in his appeal regarding the merits of the appealed resolution and presented humanitarian reasons for the illness he suffers.
