The Court of Seville asks the parties if it suspends the Griñán prison while the pardon is processed

SEVILLA, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The First Section of the Provincial Court of Seville has asked the Public Prosecutor's Office and the personal accusations if it suspends the prison for the former Andalusian president José Antonio Griñán and eight other former officials of the Board while the pardons proposed in the so-called ERE case are processed .

The order of the Court, collected by Europa Press, rules that in the aforementioned case, for which the Supreme Court (TS) has issued a conviction against former presidents José Antonio Griñán and Manuel Chaves and several former directors, such as Magdalena Álvarez, Francisco Vallejo and Carmen Aguayo, among others, "the records have been received by the Public Prosecutor's Office, along with a certification of the sentence for compliance."

The defense of the former socialist president of the Junta de Andalucía José Antonio Griñán formalized before the Supreme Court his announcement of formalization of an incident of nullity, regarding the sentence of said instance that dismisses his appeal, against the sentence of the First Section of the Court of Seville that sentenced him to six years and two days in prison and 15 years and two days of disqualification for continued crimes of embezzlement and prevarication, for the specific procedure by which the Board channeled its subsidies for early retirement in fraudulent ERE and arbitrary aid to companies.

Likewise, the order establishes that the convicts Manuel Chaves, José Salgueiro, Magdalena Álvarez, Jacinto Cañete, Gaspar Zarrías and Antonio Vicente Lozano be required "to serve the sentence of absolute disqualification to which they were sentenced in a judgment dated November 19, 2019."

Against this resolution, there is an appeal that can be filed before this Court within three days from the day following its notification.
