The Conservative Party announces this Monday the new tenant of Downing Street

MADRID, 5 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Conservative Party of the United Kingdom will announce this Monday at 12:30 (one more hour in mainland Spain) the result of the 'tory' vote, which will convert one of the two candidates, the Foreign Minister, Liz Truss, or the former CFO Rishi Sunak at the new Downing Street tenant.

After the announcement of the results by the president of the conservative parliamentary group, Graham Brady, the conservative candidate will make a speech, but will not accept questions, according to the British network BBC.

A day later, on Tuesday, the winner will be formally designated by Queen Elizabeth II, who has broken with tradition by convening the meeting at her Balmoral residence instead of Buckingham Palace.

Elizabeth II's meeting with one of the two candidates to lead the Conservatives is a breach of protocol in the British crown, since the monarch has been prevented from traveling back to England due to health problems, so the transfer of powers will be held for the first time in Scotland.

The militants of the Conservative Party concluded on Friday the voting process to choose the substitute for the current British 'premier', Boris Johnson, who has already made accounts of the millionaire businesses in which he hopes to embark after leaving office.

The current prime minister does not rule out a return to politics, although for now he "intends" to give his full support to the person who succeeds him in office and his team. Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is listed as the favorite in the final battle against former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak.

Truss has proposed as his flagship measure, should he win, a package of £30,000 in tax cuts by the end of the month, arguing that the UK's tax burden is behind slow growth in the country.
