The Ciudadanos critics platform attends with "embarrassment" the "fight" between Arrimadas and Bal

MADRID, 7 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Somos Ciudadanos platform, critical of the current leadership of the party, has censored this Wednesday the "embarrassing image" that, in its opinion, conveys the "show of struggles for power" in which the president of the organization, Inés, is immersed Arrimadas, and the 'number two', Edmundo Bal.

The current president warned the deputy secretary general on Monday that she will present her candidacy to lead Ciudadanos if he does not withdraw his, while offering to agree on a unit list that she is willing not to lead. Bal, for her part, has refused and remains determined to present his own list with her name in the first place.

"Our leaders still do not understand that the value of our project is its affiliates and they once again make the mistake of focusing on seeing who gets the chair of the Presidency, airing their differences through the media," they lamented in a statement released through his account on the social network Twitter.

For Somos Ciudadanos, the solution to the internal crisis and the culmination of the refoundation process that seeks to revive the party does not happen through Arrimadas revalidating his position or Bal assuming it. However, the platform, which already positioned itself against the candidacy of the deputy general secretary on Friday, has admitted that he has "every right to fight for the Presidency, like the rest of the affiliates."

"The solution is not that the president of our party, who has led us to this critical situation, perpetuates herself in the leadership to continue making the same erratic decisions that have led us to disappear from four autonomous governments and lose two thirds of the militancy", they add, lamenting that Arrimadas "is publicly pressing for Bal to give in to his claim to present his candidacy".

The critics have deepened their criticism of the refoundation process, which they have called a "farce", and have criticized that "the lack of transparency, the internal signaling of those who disagree and arbitrary expulsions have been the routine of these months to try to cover up the drift that the party has taken". For this reason, they have expressed their hope that "the top officials who are leading Ciudadanos to disappear, stand up to the members, apologize and step aside."
