The Brazilian subsidiary of Iberdrola will debut at Latibex on June 7

MADRID, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Iberdrola will list its Brazilian subsidiary, Neoenergia, on the Spanish market, which will debut this coming Tuesday, June 7, on Latibex, the international market for Latin American securities operated by Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME).

Thus, Neoenergia, which for its debut will have the presence on the Madrid Stock Exchange of its current CEO, Mario Ruiz-Tagle, and its future CEO, Eduardo Capelastegui, will become the nineteenth company listed on this market and the twelfth from Brazil. With this debut on the BME platform, European investors will be able to buy Neonergia shares in euros and European time.

The company will be included in the FTSE Latibex All Share index and, later, in the FTSE Latibex Brasil. This last index is revalued by 30% so far this year. Neoenergia will also be a candidate to be included in the selective index of this market, the FTSE Latibex Top.

This incorporation into the market reinforces Latibex's role as a bridge between companies and investors from both sides of the Atlantic and represents the growing interest of Latin American companies in European financial markets.

Neoenergia, controlled by Iberdrola with a stake of just over 50%, is a leading company in Brazilian networks with nearly 700,000 kilometers of power lines. It controls five distributors in 18 states in the country and is a renewable energy giant, with 5,300 megawatts (MW) installed, of which 80% is 'green'.

The Iberdrola subsidiary has a client portfolio of 16 million and a market share of 18%, after having allocated 65,000 million reais (about 12,800 million euros) to investments.

The trading code of the company, which has a capitalization of 22,000 million Brazilian reals (about 4,300 million euros), will be 'XNEO' and Auriga Global Investors will act as a specialist intermediary of the value.

In July 2019, Neoenergia debuted on the São Paulo Stock Exchange, starring in the largest public offering carried out in the Brazilian market since the end of December 2017, with the sale of 17.139% of its share capital.

Latibex was created in 1999 and is the only international market focused exclusively on Latin American securities in euros. It brings European investors, including small Spanish investors, closer to the Latin American region, through a solid and secure market, which is supported by the securities trading and settlement platform of the Spanish Stock Exchange, now part of the group SIX.

After the incorporation of Neoenergia, Latibex has twelve Brazilian companies, five Mexicans, one Argentine and one Peruvian.
