The traffic, the state of the road and the works are the aspects that most influence the negative opinion

MADRID, 7 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Autopista del Cantábrico (AP-8) and the Autopista del Norte (AP-1) are the worst rated roads by drivers, according to data obtained through a survey by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU).

In this questionnaire, the more than 1,250 drivers interviewed gave their opinion on nine aspects, including the state of the road, signage, road works or traffic flow.

Thus, together with the AP-8 and the AP-1, the roads linking Seville and Portugal (A-49), Algeciras and Almería (A-47) and the Atlantic axis between Ferrol and Portugal (AP-9) are the worst rated roads. Except for the Autopista del Atlántico, which, like the Autovía de las Rías Baixas (A-52), obtains a 6.1 out of 10, the rest of the roads mentioned do not exceed a score of 6.

In general, the worst rated aspects are the high traffic flow, the poor condition of the road and the design of the entrances and exits. The presence of continuous works is also an aspect valued very negatively, obtaining the lowest score on the Irún-Bilbao (AP-8) and Victoria-Irún (AP-1) highways.

In this sense, the OCU has requested to increase the investment in its conservation and maintenance, which was increased in 2021, but "accumulates a historical deficit".
