Telefónica Tech consolidates in the United States with the launch of its virtual data center in Virginia

MADRID, 25 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Telefónica Tech continues to consolidate its presence in the United States with the launch of a new 'Virtual Data Center' (VDC) node in Virginia to strengthen its virtual private cloud offering in the country.

The new node will complement the one that the Spanish company has in Miami, from where it manages its operations in the North American country, according to a statement.

Among the new services that the launch will allow is one for recovering the activity of businesses that have suffered an incident with loss of data and functionalities.

Telefónica Tech has 12 'Virtual Data Center' nodes distributed globally in the United States (Virginia and Florida), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Seville), Colombia (Bogotá), Peru (Lima), Chile (Santiago), Argentina (Buenos Aires) and Brazil (Sao Paulo and Curitiba).

VDC is Telefónica Tech's own Cloud service, based on VMWare technology, with the capacity to provide a hybrid service and facilitate the customer's migration to the cloud with cost optimization.

"We have become the largest hub in southern Europe thanks to our multicloud value proposition and we are convinced that Telefónica Tech will play a key role in the development of the Cloud and Cybersecurity market in the US", assured the minister Cybersecurity and Cloud delegate of Telefónica Tech, María Jesus Almazor.

Almazor has highlighted the alliances with the main technology manufacturers and the availability of a global operations center and 11 security operations centers around the world.

The VDC service is ten years old and enables companies of any size to migrate their workload to the cloud in an efficient and customizable way.
