Spain accesses the team kata finals at the European Karate

MADRID, 26 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish kata teams -male and female- have qualified this Thursday for the final of the European Karate Championship, which is being held in the Turkish town of Gaziantep, in their attempt to improve the silver that recognizes them as current runners-up in the 'Old continent'.

Spain signed a perfect second day in which it led to two new golden opportunities. The women's team made up of Lidia Rodríguez, Raquel Roy and María Lopez placed first in the group with 25.08 points performing the Tomai Bassai kata and will play the final against the Italian team.

For its part, the men's team made up of Sergio Galán, Alejandro Manzana and Óscar Garcia also placed first in their group with 25.32 points thanks to the kata Chatanyara Kushanku, which helped them reach the final against the Turkish team.

Both teams are the current runners-up in Europe after the silver achieved in the last European held in 2021 in Porec, precisely against the same rivals they will face this year. An excellent opportunity for revenge that will take place this Sunday from 11:00.
