Social Security gains 36,265 foreign affiliates in June

Social Security gained an average of 36,265 foreign affiliates in June, with which the sixth month of the year closed with 2,462,890 immigrant workers registered in the system, a new record figure, as reported on Wednesday by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations.

This monthly advance of foreign workers registered in June is the fifth in a row after the system added 18,500, 40,155, 55,689 and 72,111 foreign contributors, respectively, in February, March and April.

Of the total number of affiliated foreigners, 856,138 came from EU countries (34.8%) and 1,606,752 from third countries (65.2%). The largest groups of foreign workers are workers from Romania (348,328), Morocco (306,898), Italy (161,270), Colombia (117,376) and Venezuela (115,194). In addition, among other nationalities, there are 58,213 affiliates from Ukraine. Their number has been growing steadily since the beginning of the Russian invasion. They are more than 10,500 than in February (10,635).

In the last year, the affiliation of foreigners has increased by 240,982 people, which is 10.8% more. Of the total number of foreign contributors, 55.9% are men (1,377,535) and 44.1% are women (1,085,355).

In seasonally adjusted terms, the affiliation of foreigners to Social Security increased in June by 31,251 employed compared to the month of May, up to a total of 2,379,846 contributors, 190,425 more than before the arrival of the pandemic, in February 2020. the first six months of the year, the system has added a total of 73,182 foreign workers.
