Sánchez says when asked about his "lack of credibility" that he is faithful to the Constitution

MADRID, 27 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, has claimed this Tuesday his "commitment" to the Constitution, both in La Moncloa and in the opposition, calling on the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to "do the same", when asked about if you are concerned about the "lack of credibility" that some see you.

This is how the President of the Government responded to this question asked during his appearance at the Palacio de La Moncloa to take stock of the year. Here, he has taken stock of his mandate, with the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, defending that he has guaranteed the Constitution "in each and every one of the territories."

"In compliance with the Constitution, first as leader of the opposition and now as President of the Government, I have remained faithful to that commitment to the Constitution. I have done it in the opposition, when the independence movement placed us before the abyss of breaking the territorial integrity, supporting article 155 that Rajoy approved and I am doing so now, guaranteeing the Constitution in each and every one of the territories", he maintained.

Precisely, the leader of the 'popular', Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has accused Sánchez on several occasions of having "little credibility" regarding his words and deeds. In this response during his last press conference of the year, the Prime Minister called on "those who today hold the leadership of the opposition" to comply with the Constitution "as they demanded of other political parties when they were in government."

In this context, he has charged directly against the Feijóo leadership, denouncing that "a party like the PP does not comply with the Constitution is a problem for Spanish democracy", against the PSOE which, as he has defended, "has always been within the Constitution".

In any case, Sánchez has assured that the Government has had to adapt in its responses to many of the "supervening crises" such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic and social situation caused by the war in Ukraine, in addition to the transformations as a consequence of the climatic emergency.

"You have to adapt to unforeseen circumstances and unprecedented crises", the President of the Government has ruled.
