Sánchez's partners demand that he appear in Congress for the dead immigrants at the Melilla fence

MADRID, 27 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Esquerra Republicana, Bildu, Más País-Equo, Compromís and the PDeCAT, parliamentary allies of the coalition government, have demanded the appearance in plenary session of President Pedro Sánchez and the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, for the immigrants killed in the Moroccan area of the border with Melilla.

The petition, which is also signed by Junts, La CUP and the BNG, points to the Government as "responsible" for what happened in Nador because they consider that it is "a consequence of the migration policy of the European Union and the new agreement between the Government of Spain and Morocco, the same one that changed the Spanish position on Western Sahara.

These eight parties, attached to four different parliamentary groups, reject the first statements by President Pedro Sánchez after learning of the humanitarian catastrophe, when he spoke that Morocco had left it "well resolved."

The PP has also asked Sánchez for explanations, with which a majority could be set up in the Board of Spokespersons of Congress to force the president to appear again in Congress on issues related to Morocco. For now he has had to go twice to the plenary session on the subject, once for the change of position on the Sahara and another for the consequences in relations with Algeria.
