Sánchez celebrates the employment data at the end of 2022 and ensures that Spain creates "more stable and quality" employment

The President of the Government has celebrated the employment data at the end of 2022 by noting that Spain is advancing and creating more stable and quality employment and that unemployment has fallen to its lowest figure since 2007.

"We closed 2022 with almost 20.3 million affiliates and unemployment falls to its lowest figure since 2007," Sánchez wrote in a message on Twitter collected by Europa Press in which he also pointed out that "despite the difficult international situation , Spain advances and creates more stable and quality employment, more female employment and less youth unemployment".

Registered unemployment in the offices of the public employment services recorded a decrease of 268,252 people (-8.6%) in 2022, to a total of 2,837,635 unemployed, the lowest figure at the end of the year since 2007, as reported on Tuesday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, which has stressed that these data have been obtained "in an international context that continues to be marked by uncertainty."

With the decrease registered in 2022, unemployment chains two consecutive years of setbacks after the one recorded in 2021, when there was a record drop of 782,232 unemployed due to the end of the restrictions associated with the pandemic.

Along these same lines, the Government stresses that Social Security affiliation grew by 471,000 people in 2022, "the highest number of affiliates in the historical series: 20.3 million, 815,000 more since the pre-pandemic level of employment was exceeded , 3 out of 4 young people have an indefinite contract", they have stressed from the official account of La Moncloa, in a message collected by Europa Press.

In addition, the PSOE has remarked that the first year in which the labor reform approved by the Executive is in force has ended with a drop in unemployment "to 2,837,653 million" unemployed: "268,000 less than at the end of 2021 and the lowest figure since 2007", also stand out from the official profile of the Socialists.
