Sánchez asks to appear in Congress and the Senate to debate with Feijóo about taxes

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has requested to appear at his own request in the near future both in Congress and in the Senate, where the debate with the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will take place again, as confirmed to Europa Press Moncloa fountains.

In the Lower House, Sánchez will give an account of the informal European Council that meets in Prague this Thursday and Friday, October 6 and 7 in Prague together with other European leaders who are not part of the European Union. The head of the Executive will also explain the measures that the Executive is putting in place to respond to the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

On the other hand, his intervention in the Senate will revolve around taxation and the protection of the Welfare State, after the Government's partners reached an agreement on taxes last week in which they established a tax on large fortunes, increased taxation of capital income and incorporated benefits via personal income tax for low incomes.

Sánchez will render accounts in Parliament after the partners of the coalition government --PSOE and United We Can-- have reached an agreement on Tuesday to approve the General State Budget project for 2023. Also after the Spanish-German summit that took place celebrate this week in Galicia.

The last time Sánchez appeared at his own request in the Senate was on September 6 to explain the energy saving plan, in a session that served as the first major debate with Feijóo. In fact, after this 'face to face', the chief executive announced that there would be more appearances in the Upper House.

For his part, Sánchez's last major appearance before the Congress of Deputies took place in July during the Debate on the State of the Nation.
