Russia blacklists another 49 Britons in retaliation for sanctions

MADRID, 14 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Russian Government has expanded this Tuesday the black list of sanctions against the United Kingdom with another 49 names linked to politics, business and the media, in a new battery of measures with which Moscow wants to penalize London for the sanctions adopted against root of the invasion of Ukraine.

Among the new British sanctioned are 29 managers and journalists from some of the main media, including the BBC and Sky News and the newspapers 'The Times', 'The Guardian' and 'The Daily Telegraph'. The Russian Foreign Ministry considers that they have contributed to the spread of "false" and biased information about the war in Ukraine and thus to encourage "Russophobia".

The other 20 names correspond to people linked to the Defense sector, either from the Government or from companies. Moscow makes them ugly that they have collaborated in the delivery of weapons to Ukraine and, therefore, prohibits them from entering Russia until further notice.

This second block includes senior officials from the UK Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces, members of the House of Commons and directors of the companies Thales and BAE Systems.
