Rufián refuses to reconcile with those who denounced him for calling a concentration against pardons of the 'procés' a "narcosala"

The complainant will sue after failing to get the ERC deputy to apologize

MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The legal representatives of the ERC deputy Gabriel Rufián and the lawyer Víctor Valladares held a conciliation act on Tuesday in the Court of First Instance Number 7 of Madrid after the latter filed a lawsuit for serious insults against the leader as a result of some statements in which he called a call against the pardons of the 'procés' "narcosala of the extreme right". Rufián has not apologized for his words, as the lawyer requested, so Valladares is expected to file a complaint against the politician.

According to the conciliation record, to which Europa Press has had access, Rufián's legal team and the plaintiff have not reached an agreement. "There being no agreement between the parties and not being possible to agree on them, I terminate the act of conciliation without agreement," reads the Court's brief.

Thus, Valladares has reaffirmed and ratified his request and is expected to continue the procedure against the ERC deputy by filing a complaint, according to legal sources consulted by Europa Press.

In his initial lawsuit, the lawyer identified Rufián as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of serious insults carried out through advertising within the framework of a call carried out by 'Unión 78' that took place on June 13, 2021 in the Plaza de Colón, in Madrid, against pardons for independence leaders convicted of the 'procés'.

The lawyer criticized the statements made by the deputy shortly before the concentration. According to the lawsuit, to which Europa Press had access, Rufián stated that what was going to happen there was a "kind of far-right narcosala" in which they were going to "distribute methadone in a bad way."

Valladares considered that these demonstrations undermined and injured him because he was one of those attending the call. "The injury to my dignity is manifest since I have never received methadone or gone to a drug ward, nor have I ever been affiliated with any political party or far-right group," he said.

In his letter, he asked Rufián to retract "publicly" and to apologize to him in the same media in which he spread his statements. "This party does not request any financial compensation in this Jurisdiction," he stressed.

Valladares considered that the jurisdiction belonged to a Madrid court and not the Supreme Court because Rufián's statements were in a personal capacity and outside the exercise of his position.
