Robles admits that there are many discrepancies in the coalition and asks to unite in a common front in the face of the economic crisis

MADRID, 28 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, admitted on Tuesday that there are "many discrepancies" in the coalition government and has asked to unite in a common front in the face of the economic crisis to provide a solution to the people most affected by this situation.

"In the coalition there are many discrepancies, I disagree on many issues with United We Can, but now there is a situation of economic crisis in this country aggravated as a result of the war and, at this time, what we have to do is work to try to give a solution to the people who are having the worst time," the minister said in an interview on Canal Sur, which was collected by Europa Press.

Robles has pointed out that in the coalition Executive each one has different positions and, for example, has mentioned that the 'purple' bloc is not in favor of the NATO Summit and, nevertheless, "Spain is giving that image of a country serious, committed.

"There are many things that I do not share, but what has to unite us all is that common front to fight, in this specific case against Russia and the invasion, and internally in the economic crisis", he has thus settled this matter .

In relation to the last jump to the Melilla fence that has left more than twenty dead, the minister has pointed out that it is a "human drama" that must be avoided and that, for this, it is necessary to see what the causes are. "It is not worth tearing our clothes when such a terrible event occurs, that we tear them, but it is necessary to delve deeper and give an international response in a coordinated manner," she pointed out.

"The situation in Africa is very worrying. The famine that is happening because the grain does not arrive together with the drought, there is an extension of jihadist terrorism, countries in which the influence of Russia is total, there are some mafias that are taking advantage of young people who want to start a new life", explained the minister.

In this sense, he has asked to be very supportive and put all the means to prevent this from happening again. "We do it for the deaths of the other days as we do for the deaths in the boats. Those illegal mafias are using many young people," she assured.

Lastly, he has not come to assess the declarations made by Morocco on Monday in which he attributed the assault on Melilla commanded by "militians" to the "deliberate laxity" of Algeria. "It is not up to me to make any assessment of what a government says," he pointed out.
