Ribera trusts that all public officials "comply with the law and the efforts that Europe asks of us"

MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Third Vice President of the Government and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, has shown her confidence that all public officials "comply with the law and the efforts that are requested of us from Europe".

In reference to the rebellion of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, against the energy saving and efficiency plan launched by the Government to control the temperature in public buildings, as well as in commercial and cultural spaces, train and bus and airports, Ribera called "the responsibility of someone who is in charge of an institution to decide whether to rebel against European standards or commitments."

In statements to Telecinco collected by Europa Press, the minister considered that something has failed in that analysis, since "it is not something to be taken lightly" nor would she like Spain to be singled out as one of the most unsupportive countries in Europe.

On his Twitter account, Díaz Ayuso indicated yesterday that Madrid "does not turn off" and considered that the government's plan "generates insecurity and scares away tourism and consumption." "As a Madrilenian, I don't want to be seen as a small Gallic village that, along with Orban, is allied with Putin," Ribera said.

Previously, in statements to Antena 3, collected by Europa Press, the third vice-president of the Government assured that "each one portrays himself with his words and deeds."

"We speak of European solidarity as opposed to something that shows very little solidarity," he assured regarding the statements of the president of the Community of Madrid, insisting that what is being talked about is "respecting the constitutional order and the commitments assumed with Europe".
