Renfe launches doco, its mobility platform in which it integrates all transport

MADRID, 6 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Renfe has launched its new Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform under the commercial name of 'doco', in which it will integrate all urban and interurban public transport and private and shared transport services into a single platform .

The president of Renfe, Isaías Táboas, announced this Tuesday the name and launch of the brand, as well as its own blog, website and social media channels, of the project known until now as Renfe as a Service (RaaS).

With doco, Renfe becomes the first public company to manage 'door-to-door' mobility services, since this platform allows planning, booking and, through a single payment, to enjoy all its services.

"An open, inclusive and integrating platform for the different operators of the new mobility ecosystem whose gradual implementation will make it easier for all people to move anywhere in the national territory", Táboas pointed out.

Doco's name comes from the union of the first two syllables of the words 'where?' and how?' and evokes the idea of offering multiple options to all people. Its logo is based on simple geometric shapes and maintains accent marks, giving personality to its entire graphic ecosystem.

Users will need to register and enter their preferences when moving. When booking any trip, doco will offer the best routes and combination of transport modes to reach the destination, being able to choose between the fastest, the cheapest or the most sustainable.

The new tool has its own website, 'docomobility.com', blog and social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube). Currently, doco is in an initial phase of attracting 'early adopters', who will be the first people to be able to use the application that will be launched gradually.

It is expected that, in the coming weeks, the application developed by Renfe, together with its technology partners NTT DATA and Siemens Mobility, can be used by everyone who wants it with its massive launch.

In its initial forecasts, Renfe indicated among its objectives to attract a minimum of 650,000 new passengers over five years with this application, which will translate into additional revenue of up to 156 million euros.
