Real Sociedad signs Sadiq until 2028

Real Sociedad confirmed this Thursday the signing of Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar until the 2027/28 season from UD Almería, where he became the Andalusian team's top scorer in his two seasons as a rojiblanco.

"Real Sociedad has reached an agreement with UD Almería for the transfer of Sadiq Umar. La Real, in turn, has reached an agreement with the player until the end of the 27-28 season. He will wear number 25", reported the club in a statement.

The Nigerian became a key player in Almería's promotion to LaLiga Santander. Thus, when he arrived in the 2020/21 season, he scored 20 goals in LaLiga Smartbank and 2 in the Copa del Rey. Later he scored 19 and gave 12 assists. Once in the highest category of Spanish football, Sadiq opened his personal score against Elche and Sevilla.

The attacker has also passed through Italian football, where he wore the shirt of the modest Lavagnese of Serie D, or Spezia Calcio before making the jump to Roma at a young age. At the age of 18, he made his Serie A debut with the Roman team and later went on loan to Bologna, Torino, Breda, Rangers, Perugia and Partizán.
