Raquel Sánchez affirms that the trains will recover 100% of the frequencies prior to Covid soon

MADRID, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, has confirmed that the frequencies of the public service trains will recover 100% of the activity from before the pandemic "in the coming months", whenever the new machinists, currently in training.

This was stated by the minister during her speech in the plenary session of Congress this Wednesday, where she assured that the services are already almost completely restored, waiting to soon reach 100% of those that existed before Covid.

Sánchez has given this data in response to the PP deputy Andrés Lorite, who has been critical of the Government's action in the field of transport, for not having yet recovered the frequencies prior to the health crisis, except in Barcelona, where the ' popular' has said that they have already recovered 100%.

He has also wondered why the night trains have not been replenished, he has stated that there is no generational change in the engine driver workforce and he has blamed the minister for not having complied with the execution that the previous PP Government had proposed. , without completing the Mediterranean Corridor, the Atlantic and "raising ticket prices and merchandise rates".

Given all this, Raquel Sánchez has argued that the pandemic had an impact on the provision of the rail service but that now the Government is focused "on improving the quality of public services and guaranteeing that no one is left behind, despite the complex environment".

Proof of this, he added, is that in the public budgets for 2022, the conventional lines exceeded the investment of the high-speed lines, which demonstrates "the concern to improve the daily mobility used by the social majority of the country, male and female workers and students".
