Raisi accuses the "Great Satan" of the US of fomenting "terrorism" in Iran for its support of the protests

MADRID, 16 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi, this Sunday criticized the United States, the "Great Satan", and in particular its president, Joe Biden, for his support for the recent protests unleashed in Iran and has denounced that the tenant of the House Blanca wants to foment "terrorism" and "insecurity" in Iran.

Raisi has reproached Biden that his support for "riots, his" incitement to chaos "and the" destruction of property in another country "demonstrate the hypocrisy of his defense of Human Rights, Iranian public media report. Thus, he recalled the first leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, and how he referred to the United States as the Great Satan.

For Raisi, "by examining the roots of acts of sabotage, assassinations, and riots, it is possible to reveal the effects and evil practices of the United States."

"Washington's support for 70 years of crimes by the Zionist entity inside Palestine and its occupation of Afghan lands for 20 years are examples of the evil practices of the Great Satan," he stressed.

The "enemy" seeks to take advantage of recent events to spread discomfort and frustration throughout society, he warned. For this reason, he has ordered the authorities to adopt concrete and effective measures to respond to the problems of the population and thus frustrate any conspiracy.

"The enemy's plans are fully exposed to the conscious Iranian people, who will once again turn their backs on their enemy and continue to move steadily and proudly towards progress and prosperity," he stressed.

Meanwhile, the protests and riots continue over the death of the young Mahsa Amini after being arrested in Tehran by the Moral Police for not wearing the veil properly. This Sunday there have been protests in Tehran, where the Police have used tear gas, according to the Center for Human Rights in Iran, which publishes a video of the violence.

And in Tehran's Evin prison, where on Saturday there was a riot and a fire carried out by common prisoners, according to the official version, this Sunday 1,400 inmates have been evacuated and there could be bodies among them. Authorities have reported four deaths and 61 injuries.
