Portability falls 7.2% in May, to 666,843 company changes

Portability fell by 7.2% in May compared to the same month last year with 666,843 company changes, 523,707 in mobile and 143,136 in landline, according to data from the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC).

In the fixed segment, the fleet has added more than 90,000 new fiber optic lines, bringing the total fleet in Spain to 13.2 million.

The virtual mobile operators have repeated as the winners with 29,700 lines won, followed by MásMóvil, which has recorded a growth of 18,800 lines.

Telefónica has also ended the month on a positive note, adding 1,400, while Orange has ceded 6,900 and Vodafone, 8,900 clients.

In addition, the NEBA indirect access service (FTTH and copper) has added 12,703 lines and accumulates just over one million, while local NEBA has exceeded 2.1 million accesses.

For its part, the mobile fleet added 168,299 lines in May. which means raising the number of mobile lines in Spain to 56.49 million lines, 2.7% more than a year ago.

All the operators except Telefónica, which has lost 10,749 lines, have benefited from this growth. On the other hand, MVNOs have added 95,624.00, MásMóvil and Vodafone, just over 32,000 each, and Orange, 18,683.
