Portability falls 15.7% in July and registers the month with the least activity of the year

Portability of fixed and mobile lines fell 15.7% in July, to 604,384 lines changed operator, the lowest record so far this year and 9.3% less than during the month of June, according to to the latest data published by the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC).

Thus, in the mobile segment, 486,872 ports have been registered, 13.8% less than in the same month of the previous year, although the park has added 300,000 mobile lines, due to the promotion of prepaid in the summer period.

This growth in mobile lines has caused all operators to have closed the month with more lines than the previous month. Thus, MásMóvil leads the gains, with 128,880; Vodafone has added 86,600; MVNOs, 77,030; Orange, 12,330, and Telefónica, 3,920.

On the other hand, in the fixed segment, fiber optic lines continue to grow and total 13.3 million, thanks to a monthly growth of 64,172 lines.

MVNOs have been the main attractors of lines with 22,685, followed by Telefónica, which has scored green numbers of 16,747 net lines, its best month of the year, and MásMóvil, which has added 14,422.

For its part, Orange has recorded a drop of 13,432 lines, while Vodafone has lost 9,898 customers.
