Pons says that Sánchez and Feijóo agreed to leave out the sedition and reveals the rejection of the agreement of the judge ministers

MADRID, 31 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP Deputy Secretary for Institutions, Esteban González Pons, assured this Monday that the Chief Executive, Pedro Sánchez, and the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, agreed at the meeting they held in Moncloa on October 10 to leave out the crime of sedition of his negotiation of the Judicial Power and that there would be no magistrates "related to ERC" in the Constitutional Court. In addition, he has revealed the rejection of the terms of the agreement of the judge ministers who are part of the Council.

That yes, González Pons has stressed that the negotiation "was not closed" last week - when the PP decided on Thursday afternoon to suspend the negotiations for the crime of sedition - because, as he stressed, the "main issue ", which is a new election system for the members of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ).

In an interview on Onda Cero, González Pons explained that "the lowering of sentences" for the crime of sedition and the possibility that "magistrates related to ERC" could enter the Constitutional Court "from the beginning".

"This was discussed at the first meeting that Sánchez and Feijóo had in Moncloa, which Bolaños and I also attended. And it was agreed that the issue of sedition would not be touched upon," said the PP leader, who has been the negotiator by the 'popular'.

In addition, he has indicated that it was agreed at the last meeting, in a "climate of good harmony", that the President of the Government would inform the leader of the PP "who were going to be the Government's candidates for the TC" so that the first opposition party "could verify that no one related to ERC entered".

However, he has admitted that things began to "complicate" when it was reported in the media that "the reform of the crime of sedition was approaching." As he stressed, the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, had told them both "by word of mouth and in writing" that what was related to penal reform "was not news" but "author journalism", but then Pedro Sánchez confirmed "the opposite " to Feijoo.

González Pons has also revealed the "concern" of the judge ministers who are part of the Government (Margarita Robles, Fernando Grande-Marlaska and Pilar Llop) and has indicated that, since Tuesday, upon knowing the agreed requirements, "there was an opposition" for that pact to "come to fruition".

Pons has affirmed that the Government of Pedro Sánchez was "playing two decks" and they have "forced him to choose" between ERC and the constitutionalists. In his opinion, he "cannot be with both at the same time" and "the problem is that he has chosen ERC again." In addition, he has indicated that the Government "knew what his condition was" and the PP "has not deceived".

In any case, and despite the suspension of the negotiations last Thursday, he has said that the PP "remains open if the Government returns to constitutionalism" not to go through the hoop that they agreed with the ERC at the same time as with the Popular Party

The PP's Deputy Secretary for Institutions has indicated that the Government should at this time return its powers to the CGPJ to make appointments because there are 20% of unfilled vacancies." In addition, he has admitted that the agreement "has to be a whole and not just can be a part.
