Podemos sets conditions for the Budgets and requires the PSOE to bet on its partners and not reach out to the PP

MADRID, 29 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Podemos has highlighted its conditions to support the General State Budgets for 2023 and has summoned the PSOE to approve these accounts and other government measures with the investiture partners, rejecting any attempt to "reach out" to the PP.

Pablo Fernández, one of the co-spokespersons for the purple formation, explained that there are a series of measures that Podemos considers "essential" to support the next budgets, such as a new Family Law that includes monthly parenting aid of 100 euros per month for child, the extension to six months of paternity and maternity leave, and the exclusivity of nursing leave for women.

A second condition is the promotion of dependency with an additional 600 million for its development, and another 200 million to complement the Corresponsables program to promote conciliation.

In terms of transport, they demand a state fund to continue expanding aid with a flat rate of 10 euros per month that includes metro, tram, urban and intercity buses, a fund that would include aid to companies that provide these services. In addition, they want this service to reach rural areas and they want a plan to connect rural centers with the county seat a minimum of twice a day in four years.

Added to all this is the demand to "raise as much as possible" the minimum wage to "shield the purchasing power of workers", as well as to approve "without delay" two laws that remain stuck: the reform of the 'gag law', and the new Housing Law, which they consider essential in an environment of rising interest rates.

"And all this must be removed with the investiture bloc," Pablo Fernández stressed, who believes that Pedro Sánchez and the PSOE should stop reaching out to the PP as they have been doing with the renewal of the Judiciary.

In his opinion, "Alberto Núñez Feijóo has shown that moderation is what Putin is to pacifism", and for this reason he considers "it is essential that the PSOE does not look at the PP" and that the Budgets come out with the most investiture

For Alejandra Jacinto, also a co-spokesperson for Podemos, the PP is "a stale party anchored in the past" that has tried to "hinder all progress." "Feijóo's party has no remedy, it continues betting on failed policies," she said at the same press conference.
