Verstrynge once again asks the second vice president to campaign for the candidacies of Podemos for 28M

SEVILLA, 18 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The secretary of Organization of Podemos, Lilith Verstrynge, has revealed this Saturday that the team of the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has recently informed them that Sumar has no forecast of closing electoral agreements for the general elections until the summer.

This has been transferred in statements to the media questioned by the meetings that Díaz is holding with the political formations to the left of the PSOE, in the framework of the construction of the new project that he is promoting.

"His team has recently informed us that they do not plan to close electoral agreements for the generals until the summer. At the moment we cannot say much more, we will have to wait for Yolanda Díaz's project to develop," he indicated.

In this way, Verstrynge has indicated that Podemos is now "very focused" on the May elections and they are going to sue the second vice president to campaign for their candidacies in the municipal and regional elections.

In turn, he stressed that as an example of the priority they give to the 28M elections is the celebration today in Seville of an interparliamentary conference of Podemos, with its regional and state deputies and candidates, where there is "much at stake" and they aspire to get the best result.

Precisely this Thursday, the Minister of Equality and number two of Podemos, Irene Montero, considered regarding Díaz's possible candidacy for the generals, out of respect for his times, that it was necessary to go "fast" and even thought that it was already goes "late".

"When you finish building it and decide if you are going to be a candidate and if you want to also be the candidate for Podemos, we will be there to get to work. We would like it to be as soon as possible," Montero said in a recent interview.

Yesterday, Díaz asked the purple formation and the rest of the organizations to let him work "with discretion" in the construction of this platform and stressed that he is holding meetings with the progressive parties, including Podemos.

The vice president explained that she has an intense management agenda in the Ministry of Labour, as revealed by the increase in the interprofessional minimum wage and the negotiation with the social agents for the Scholarship Statute, and that she is meeting with all the progressive formations.

"For things to go well, for us to add, we need discretion and I do tell them that we let Sumar work (...) Therefore, if we want to add, let's do it well, with discretion and with love", he highlighted.

From Sumar, as they explain from the vice president's environment, contacts are maintained with multiple political formations and without establishing a specific number, they point out that they could reach fifteen political organizations.

In addition, it is not expected that Díaz will communicate his decision regarding the candidacy for the generals in the remainder of the month and he maintains the deployment of acts of the listening process, which has intensified since the beginning of the year and that this Saturday leads him to maintain a meeting with sectors in defense of public health.
