Podemos reaffirms that Vicky Rosell is its candidate for the CGPJ and will step down from an agreement that excludes her

He assures that he will be removed from a "bipartisan" cast of the CGPJ when the election of two members corresponds to him

Podemos has transferred to the PSOE that the judge and Government delegate against gender violence, Victoria Rosell, must be one of the candidates chosen to be part of the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and they have warned that they will be dropped of a possible renewal agreement of the body if it is not part of the new list of members.

This has been transferred to Europa Press sources of the purple formation to assert that including the name of Rosell is a necessary condition to be able to support an agreement with the PP to unlock the governing body of the judges. From Podemos they have defended that in this negotiation there can be no vetoes and that in the contacts with their partners it was agreed that they should propose two members of the CGPJ.

Consequently, they insist that "they will not participate in any agreement" if the profile of the former deputy of United We Can is excluded and a "bipartisan distribution" of the highest body of the judiciary is incurred, where only PP and PSOE decide "who this one and who doesn't. Precisely the name of Rosell and that of Judge José Ricardo de Prada generated opposition in the PP in the previous frustrated negotiation.

Therefore, the purple party has made clear its firm commitment to Rosell, whose name emerged this week as the favorite candidate for the replacement in this institution, praising her excellent professional career as the ideal magistrate to contribute to "improving the quality of democracy".

They have also alluded to the fact that the Government delegate against gender violence has suffered a "conspiracy" in a "mafia" way by former judge Salvador Alba to try to "ruin her life and her political career for being precisely from Podemos", but that finally the magistrate has fought against this 'lawfare' (judicial war) and got the former magistrate expelled from the judicial career and convicted of prevarication, bribery and false documents. "Vicky Rosell has managed to defeat those corrupt practices of the PP and her friend judges," they emphasize from the purple formation.

Just yesterday the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, stated from Brussels that the agreement to renew the Judiciary is "possible", but made it clear that meeting the "depoliticization requirement" leaves out political profiles, among which would be Judge Victoria Rosell.

Thus, the head of the opposition pointed out that in the negotiation they have spoken of "requirements, not of people." "If we agree on the requirements, people who do not meet the requirements cannot be part of the CGPJ, and one of the requirements is the depoliticization of the Judiciary," he stated.

For her part, the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, was "optimistic" about the negotiations to achieve an agreement to renew the Judiciary and refused to talk about the names of possible candidates to enter the institution.
