Podemos assures that it will support an investigation commission of the 'Mediator' case if requested by the PSOE

He considers it a "joke" that the PP promotes this initiative in Congress when it is the "most corrupt party in Europe"

MADRID, 3 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for Unidas Podemos in Congress, Pablo Echenique, has stated that his formation will support an investigation commission on the 'Mediator' case if it is presented by the PSOE, its coalition partner, because it is the main interest in clarifying all this plot.

In statements to RNE, collected by Europa Press, Echenique has made it clear that his formation will reject the initiative of the PP and considers it a "joke" that the "most corrupt party in Europe", immersed in the Gürtel and Kitchen cases, is trying to present itself now as a formation that fights against irregularities.

"We are not going to play along with the PP", Echenique has reiterated to also make ugly the messages that the president of the National Court, José Ramón Navarro, exchanged with the former Secretary of State for Security Francisco Martínez in the previous PP government during the investigation of the 'Kitchen' case.

However, he has clarified that the refusal of the popular's proposal does not imply that they do not want the 'Mediator' case to be investigated in the Lower House and believes that it is the PSOE that should voluntarily request it in Congress to "get to the bottom of this matter."

Asked about the climate installed in Congress after the announcement of complaints from PSOE deputies who situates them at a dinner organized by the plot and if there are changes regarding the visits that parliamentarians receive in Congress, Echenique has indicated that they this type of plot does not affect them "not even remotely" because they are linked to "bipartisanship".

In this sense, he has claimed that he has never eaten with a businessman because he is from Podemos and they were born as a reaction to the "normalization" of corruption that bipartisanship did. "Let them search me", he has settled.
