Sánchez forms a hard core with several ministers to grease the coordination between Moncloa and Ferraz

MADRID, 21 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The new spokeswoman for the PSOE Executive, Pilar Alegría, will have autonomy to carry out the functions of spokesperson and communication, after the remodeling carried out by the general secretary, Pedro Sánchez, and which will be ratified in the Federal Committee on Saturday. In the previous stage, the communication was in charge of the deputy secretary general, according to the regulations that came out of the 40th Congress.

Alegría, who replaces Felipe Sicilia, assumes the party's communication tasks, as commissioned by Sánchez, who has already spoken with the new positions and has told them what he expects from each one and the functions they must perform. With the new designations, Sánchez forms a hard core to grease the coordination between Ferraz and Moncloa.

The also President of the Government has appointed the Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, as Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE to replace Adriana Lastra and has kept Santos Cerdán in the Secretary of Organization.

Until now, the direction of the communication policy of the party and of the parliamentary group was in the hands of the Deputy Secretary General, as appears in the operating regulations of the Federal Executive that emanated from the 40th Congress of the PSOE, held in Valencia last month of October.

Finally, Sánchez has decided to maintain this position despite the fact that some voices from the party have indicated in recent days - after Lastra's resignation - that the general secretary had the option of redeeming that position, which has a certain "artificial" character, as they pointed out, and return the powers to Organization.

As specified in the regulations, the general vice-secretary's office is also in charge of the political coordination of the Federal Executive Commission with the Government, when it is exercised by the PSOE; to approve the general criteria for parliamentary action and the decision on the position of the socialist group in Parliament.

Also to establish the guidelines that guide the functioning of the parliamentary groups in the Cortes Generales and in the European Parliament, in addition to other tasks shared with the General Secretariat and the Organization Secretariat.

On the other hand, in the party they see that with this remodeling Sánchez has formed a hard core made up of the ministers promoted in Ferraz, that is, the head of the Treasury and Public Function María Jesús Montero --new deputy general secretary--; that of Education and Vocational Training, Pilar Alegría, and the closest collaborators of Moncloa: the Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, the Director of the Cabinet of the Presidency, Óscar López and his deputy, Antonio Hernando .

Therefore, they assume that the president has given a boost to coordination between Ferraz and Moncloa, that it will be easier and will improve since the interlocutors have political weight and also share a table in the Council of Ministers.

The new spokeswoman for the Executive has earned the trust of the president, since under her mandate in the Ministry the normative development of the LOMLOE has been completed, the Vocational Training Law -of which the Government habitually presumes- has gone ahead - and has reduced the conflict with the concerted party to a minimum.

Alegría now faces high public exposure, with weekly press conferences and regular interventions in which she will predictably often confront the PP. Recently she already responded to the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, by criticizing "scholarships for the rich" after having relaxed the criteria for educational scholarships that students from private centers whose families earn more than 100,000 euros will now be able to access .
