Pilar Alegría disfigures Feijóo's leadership "based on hiding"

MADRID, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Pilar Alegría, assured this Friday that there is "reliable evidence" that the Government will exhaust the legislature regardless of the fact that they have not had the support of their Podemos partners in the vote on the Audiovisual Law and It has made the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, ugly, carrying out a leadership "based on hiding".

"I think that the stability that we have shown during all this time of the legislature has been clear. In addition, it is not a headline, the evidence is reliable," Alegría said in an interview on TVE, collected by Europa Press, when asked about of whether they maintain that the Government will be able to finish the legislature and the meaning of that abstention of its coalition partners.

Alegría, who has insisted that he has no doubts that they will continue to lead the Executive, has explained that parties with different "sensitivities" sit in the parliamentary arc and that where we have to look is in this law that has come forward and "collects a large part of the requests and demands of the audiovisual sector". "That is so and yesterday an important step was taken in that direction," she added.

He has not given more details of the reading he does about that abstention from United We Can. "We are in a different political moment than the one that the history of our country has experienced, a parliamentary arc with many political forces and obviously in the face of any bill, work must be done and active listening with all the groups, but if we take a look ago we have approved all the laws that we have taken to Parliament", has slipped the head of Education.

Regarding the relationship with the Popular Party, which yesterday abstained from voting on this law, Alegría has pointed out that as an opposition party it has to be "responsible", something that has been requested from the "first moment" and, according to the minister, have found "silence" and a "negative vote" on all the issues they have raised to deal with the pandemic and the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

In this sense, he has charged against Feijóo for not giving explanations about certain information about the "endemic corruption" of the party. "When explanations have to be given, leadership is shown by giving them face to face", emphasized the minister, who has accused the Galician leader of "hiding".

Finally, regarding the dialogue with the Esquerra Republicana -broken after the espionage of independentists with Pegasus-, the minister recalled the Government's outstretched hand to dialogue with all the political forces. "If there is a hallmark of this Government, it is that we are clearly committed to dialogue, which is essential to achieve the useful policy that the citizens themselves ask of us", she has settled.
