Pedro Sánchez visits this Monday the areas affected by the Bejís fire

VALENCIA, 21 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will visit this Monday the areas affected by the forest fire in Bejís (Castellón), which has burned nearly 19,000 hectares in a perimeter of 140 kilometers, where he will hold a meeting with those responsible for the operation and with mayors and mayors of affected municipalities, and will recognize the extinction work on the ground.

The leader of the Executive will be accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska; the 'president' of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, and the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, as reported by the Secretary of State for Communication and the Presidency of the Generalitat.

First, the President of the Government will visit the Advanced Command Post, located in the Jérica Fire Station, where he will hold a meeting with those responsible for the operation and with the mayors of the municipalities affected by the fires in the area.

Next, Sánchez will recognize the fire extinction work on the ground and, at the end of the visit, will offer a statement to the media, as detailed in the call.

In the case of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, it will be the second time he has visited the area affected by the fire. Last Wednesday he went to the Advanced Command Post and the troops fighting the forest fire. That same day, the head of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, also visited the area affected by the Vall d'Ebo forest fire (Alicante).

Regarding the situation of the fire in Bejís, the 'president' of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, announced this Sunday that all the people who remained evacuated due to the forest fire in Bejís (Castellón) - specifically from the municipalities of Sacañet , Teresa and the districts of Andilla-- they can now return to their homes due to the "favorable situation" of the fire, which is "in the process of stabilizing", but this situation cannot yet be decreed given that there are hot spots in the area of The bull.

In any case, Puig, in statements to the media after holding a meeting with those responsible for the Bejís fire at the forward command post, has indicated that if the situation evolves as it is now, it is expected that the fire will be considered stabilized throughout the late or, if not, in the face of this coming Monday.
