Ouigo increases its nominal capital to 19 million euros before its premiere in Valencia in October

Ouigo has executed three new capital increases up to a resulting total subscribed amount of 18.98 million euros to continue making investments in Spain, where next October it will open new high-speed routes to Valencia.

According to the Official Gazette of the Mercantile Registry (Borme), the operator has recently subscribed a first increase of 466,000 euros, another of 481,000 euros and a last one of 800,000, which has meant increasing its nominal capital to nearly 19 million euros. euros.

This operation responds to the volume of investment of 600 million euros committed by the company for its landing in Spain, which has not been disbursed all at once, but rather is made available according to the needs of each moment.

In this sense, the operator also carried out in April and December of last year and in January and April of this year other increases for nearly 5 million euros, always in nominal amounts. The investments made by the company in stages are intended for the acquisition of 14 trains, employing some 1,300 people in the country.

After starting its operations between Madrid and Barcelona in May 2021, Ouigo will begin its activity on the rest of the axes of the Spanish high-speed network throughout 2022 and 2023. On October 7, it will open its line to Valencia and later to Alicante .

However, Ouigo has already warned that the rise in the price of electricity "endangers the liberalization of high speed", after the cost per person of traveling by train has shot up more than 50% due to the price of the light.

In any case, Ouigo defends being "holding out" without passing on prices to customers, considering that this would jeopardize its main objective, which is for people to use the train more, the least polluting means of transport.
