Nogueras (Junts) accuses ERC and PSOE of "dismantling" Catalonia and defends that there has already been a referendum

Criticizes Aragonès' clarity agreement and does not specify if they will participate in the debate to shape it

BARCELONA, 29 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Junts spokesperson in Congress, Míriam Nogueras, has accused the ERC and PSOE this Wednesday of "dismantling" Catalonia and has defended that a referendum was already held on 1-O 2017 at the will of the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès , to seal a clarity agreement in 2023 that allows Catalans to vote on their future.

"We already did the referendum. In the last elections in Catalonia, the independence movement won by 52%. Anything that is not fulfilling the mandate is contributing to what has been happening in the last two years. And it is that ERC and PSOE are dismantling Catalonia", he said in an interview with Europa Press.

All this after the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, stressed this week that there will be no self-determination referendum no matter how much the Government claims it, and that it does not fit in the Constitution.

For Nogueras, it is necessary to ask Aragonès why he insists on holding a referendum that La Moncloa rejects: "They must be very comfortable where they are to want to continue extending it," he said.

After recalling that the clarity agreement proposed by Aragonès was rejected in the Parliament, he has reproached him for the fact that his Christmas speech "was more about the party than the country, it was about a small president" and he has not specified whether they will participate in the debate that he wants to promote to give it shape

"They are a government in the minority, and the proposals they have made have been rejected in Parliament. It is their responsibility to decide what they do with the power they have, considering that they do not have the majority support of Parliament," he stated.

As an alternative to the clarity agreement, Nogueras has appealed to practice "confrontation and to put the country ahead and not the party", the attitude that she claims is carried out from Junts and she from Congress.

And it is that, according to her, you can do politics and achieve progress for Catalonia "without going hand in hand with the one you want to separate, has sent you to prison and exile", in reference to the ERC's support for the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

"The one who keeps Pedro Sánchez in power, the one who has given him power and the one who approves the Budgets is the ERC," said Nogueras, who considers that Catalonia is worse than ever since then because, in his opinion, it has lost powers and resources.

On the dialogue table, he has indicated that it is "smoke" because he has not obtained either amnesty or the right to self-determination, and has also charged against the reform of the Criminal Code that repealed the crime of sedition, transforming it into another of public disorder , and reformed embezzlement.

"It has been approved that now for going out on the streets and for demonstrating we can go to prison. Now it is written that, for doing what we are doing, we can go to prison. Now we are criminals," he lamented.

Given the renewal of the Constitutional Court (TC), he has assured that they are not surprised or worried because the judges that make it up "all become conservative" when there are issues related to Catalonia on the table.

"The PP and the PSOE with respect to Catalonia are exactly the same. The facts and history show it," criticized Nogueras, who believes that they will pronounce in the same direction when they have to rule on issues such as 25% of Castilian in the classrooms, among others.

In relation to the decree of social and economic measures of the Government, he has asked to see "what is hidden and what is behind this Macedonian Royal Decree because issues that are opposed to the shock policies" announced are always slipping through, which he describes as fair and minimal .

"With the left hand, this progressive government sells us social policies, and with the right hand it is compensating the usual ones," he has settled.
