Nadia Calviño hopes that the PP will act with "responsibility and common sense" and support the energy decree

BETANZOS (A CORUÑA), 14 Aug. (EUROPE PRESS) -

The First Vice President of the Government and Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, assured this Sunday that she expects the Popular Party to act with "responsibility and common sense" and support the energy decree.

To questions from the media before giving the proclamation of the patron saint festivities of the A Coruña town of Betanzos, Calviño has insisted that it is time to "put our shoulders to the wheel" and "be in solidarity" with the rest of the European countries that "may have increased vulnerability" with the war in Ukraine.

In this sense, he has assessed that he expects "all political groups" to support measures that, in his opinion, "are what Spain needs at the moment" and that, moreover, "are common sense." "Energy saving, diversification of the sources of electricity generation and promotion of renewable energies. These are the three lines that we have agreed with our European partners", stated the vice-president.

For this reason, he stressed that he expects the PP to act with that "responsibility and common sense" and "support the Government's action", above all, he stressed, "because it is in solidarity with the indications that we have received from the European Union and with the European partners.

This is the second proclamation made by the vice president in Galicia in a matter of days, since on Friday she was in charge of giving the Galician Day speech in the city of Vigo.
