Moreno, invested president of the Board of the XII Legislature with the absolute majority of the PP and the abstention of Vox

SEVILLA, 21 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Juanma Moreno (PP-A) has been invested this Thursday before the Plenary Session of the Parliament as president of the Junta de Andalucía of the XII legislature, with the votes in favor of the 58 deputies of the PP-A, which has an absolute majority, while Vox has abstained in an "affectionate" way. The other three opposition groups, PSOE-A, 'Por Andalucía' and the mixed party-Adelante Andalucía have voted against Moreno's investiture (37 against).

The Parliament has hosted this Wednesday and Thursday the investiture debate, which began with the intervention of the candidate for re-election as president to present his government program and commitments for the legislature. Yesterday there was only the speech of the candidate for re-election, while today there were interventions by the spokespersons of the five parliamentary groups, to which Moreno has been responding individually. The investiture vote has been public and by appeal of each deputy.

As an anecdote of the vote, the Vox spokeswoman, Macarena Olona, when expressing her vote, said "affectionate abstention", while the next to vote, the PP-A deputy Esperanza Oña, expressed "more affectionately" yes. Of the 14 deputies that Vox has, one was missing in the vote, with which 108 deputies have voted.

Before the vote, Moreno - who is facing his second term as Andalusian president - has taken the floor to close the debate and has requested the support of all groups for his investiture because the more support there is, the more strength "there will be to transform "Andalusia. He has indicated that the new majority in the Chamber --in reference to the absolute majority of the PP-A-- reflects the will of an Andalusian people who want serenity, security, stability, ambition and who want to continue advancing.

He has indicated that the absolute majority of the PP-A cannot take us away from the fundamental objective of putting Andalusians at the center of our work. He has advocated an agreement between all parties for Andalusia, above all, to deal with the current economic crisis and the hyperinflation that Andalusian families are suffering.

He has highlighted that in just four weeks since the elections the investiture debate has taken place, in a demonstration of diligence and generosity on the part of all the groups for agreeing to shorten the time. He has been convinced that this investiture debate will go down in history for being "elegant, serene and productive".

Moreno, also president of the PP-A, has been invested as head of the Executive 33 days after the regional elections were held on June 19, in which the PP-A obtained an absolute majority for the first time in the history of autonomy, by winning 58 of the 109 seats in the regional Chamber.

After his investiture, Moreno will take office on Saturday, in an act that will take place from 9:00 a.m., on the esplanade of Avenida de Roma in Seville, in front of the main façade of the Palacio de San Telmo, headquarters of The presidency.

It will be the first time in 28 years that the inauguration of a President of the Board is held outside the seat of Parliament. The last time was in 1994. Some 700 guests are expected to attend the event, sources from the Board have informed Europa Press.

On behalf of the central government, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, will attend, while the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the former president of the Spanish Executive, Mariano Rajoy, have also confirmed their presence.

At the event, there will be speeches by the President of Parliament, Jesús Aguirre; by Luis Planas, and by Juanma Moreno. At the end, there will be a reception for the guests inside the Palacio de San Telmo.

Its new Executive will be known at the beginning of next week, most likely on Monday, and the first meeting of the new Governing Council will take place once the directors have taken office.

During his opening speech at the investiture debate on Wednesday, Moreno promised to govern avoiding the "roller" and listening "more than ever" to Andalusian society. In addition, he announced his commitment to promote a Budget for the autonomous community for the next financial year of 2023 that is "realistic" in the face of what he has defined as the "new pandemic" of inflation, as well as a series of measures and tax reductions that suppose "an oxygen ball for families of at least 260 million additional euros" next year.

Another commitment was that Andalusians be seen by their primary care doctor in a maximum of 48 hours on average. He also promised to give "a boost" to the "green economy" and especially to the production of green hydrogen in the new legislature, baptized as the "legislature of water". Similarly, he announced a package of measures to encourage the hiring and training "of nearly 30,000 young Andalusians", as well as the promotion of 6,000 new homes "at affordable prices" that they will be able to access.

In a political key, he trusted that after his absolute majority in the regional elections, a "new time and a new relationship" will open with the Government of Pedro Sánchez, based on "dialogue, respect and loyalty".

Regarding the interventions of the groups on Thursday, the general secretary of the PSOE-A and president of the Socialist Group, Juan Espadas, has summoned Moreno to develop a "permanent rendering of accounts" in Parliament, since do not "block" the "action" of the opposition to your new Executive. He has also offered five pacts on matters such as the fight against inflation, the defense of essential public services and the execution of European funds.

For her part, the spokeswoman for the Vox parliamentary group in Andalusia, Macarena Olona, has urged Moreno to bring "this very month of July" to the Andalusian Chamber an "urgent package of anti-crisis measures that represents the authentic social shield that relieves thousands of Andalusian households for whom this runaway inflation prevents them from bringing meat or fruit to their tables".

The spokeswoman for the parliamentary group of Por Andalucía, Inma Nieto, has warned Moreno that he will not give up debating in the new legislature despite the fact that the absolute majority of the popular guarantees support for the proposals they present, also pointing out as "priority" tasks " present a plan that mitigates the loss of purchasing power of workers and also fight against poverty in the community.

The spokeswoman for the Grupo Mixto-Adelante Andalucía, Teresa Rodríguez, has asserted herself as the voice of a "truly free Andalusianism", while at the same time she has disgraced Moreno for relying on "repeated promises" in his investiture speech, and for "omitting "in it those related to democratic regeneration that he outlined in the previous precedent, in January 2019.

Finally, the spokesman for the Popular Group, Toni Martín, has asked that this new legislature of the absolute majority of the Popular Party be "the legislature of absolute consensus", assuring that despite not needing votes from other groups, its formation will always seek the dialogue".
