Montero hopes that Feijóo speaks well of Spain and shares Von Der Leyen's theses endorsing government policies

The Minister of Finance and Civil Service, María Jesús Montero, hopes that the leader of the opposition, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, speaks well of Spain during his visit to Brussels and that he shares the theses of the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen , endorsing government policies such as the Iberian exception or the temporary tax on large energy companies.

In statements to the media after participating in an informative breakfast of Europa Press, the minister has issued this warning after the PP last January --still under the leadership of Pablo Casado-- unleashed an offensive in the community institutions for the Government's management of European funds for recovery after the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Montero has assured that he is not worried about a photo of Feijóo with the president of the Commission, but that he hopes that "he shares the theses that the president herself has transferred endorsing the government's policies." "And that Mr. Feijóo be convinced, if not by us, by Mrs. Von Der Leyen," he added.

In this key, the minister wants any leader who leaves "speak well of Spain" and thus avoid any type of obstacle to the resources needed to boost the economy, as well as to attract investors.
