Moncloa and the Government agree to move forward in dejudicialization and the Executive supports the law that eliminates 25% of Castilian

MADRID, 27 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The central government and the Catalan government have agreed this morning to overcome the "dejudicialization" of the conflict generated after the 'procés', without concrete progress in the reform of the crime of sedition. Yes, there have been specific agreements on measures to protect the Catalan language, guaranteeing the autonomy of educational centers with the support of the Executive for the new Catalan law that suppresses 25% of the use of the language in Spanish. In addition, they will promote the use of Catalan in the Senate and in the European Parliament.

This was detailed in a press conference by the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, after the third dialogue table between the two administrations, held today in Madrid.

In linguistic matters, Bolaños explained that the protection of Catalan is an obligation and, consequently, it will be guaranteed that all students have full knowledge of it, as well as Spanish. In this way, both executives recognize the autonomy of each school to reinforce one or the other language in its social and cultural context, as stated in the Catalan law approved by 80% of Parliament.

It has also stressed that the use of the choice of language in relations with institutions will be preserved, to encourage communication by the administration to be reciprocal in oral and written matters.

The head of the Presidency has stated that a change in the Senate regulations will be promoted to enable the right of parliamentarians to express themselves in co-official languages, as well as to ask the European Parliament that Catalan be considered as the language of full use in plenary sessions.

In addition, Bolaños has cited the commitment of the Executive to encourage the presence of representatives of the Generalitat in all those international forums focused precisely on linguistic matters.
