Military Association demands that part of the increase in the Defense budget be used to improve their salaries

Remember that the 120,000 members of the Armed Forces and their families also vote and feel "forgotten"

MADRID, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Association of Spanish Troops and Sailors (ATME) sent letters last week to the main parliamentary groups demanding that part of the increase in the Defense budget be used to improve the remuneration of members of the Armed Forces.

The letters were sent to the spokespersons for PSOE, PP, United We Can, Citizens and Vox in the Defense Commission with the aim that the General State Budgets for 2023 contain "substantial improvements in the remuneration and working conditions of the military".

The public accounts project approved on Tuesday by the Council of Ministers includes a budget for the Defense increase of almost 26 percent, although most of the increase falls on special weapons programs.

ATME transfers to the parliamentary groups the "serious concern" that it assures exists within the Armed Forces with the situation experienced by the military. "At a time when national security is becoming increasingly important due to the latest international events, the remuneration and professional conditions of the military are postponed if not forgotten," he denounces.

According to claims, the Armed Forces are one of the institutions best valued by the citizen and one of the most "praised" by the current government; however, he denounces that "this is not endorsed by an improvement in their pay and working conditions."

But in addition, it reminds the parties that the Armed Forces make up a mass of voters of 120,000 people, to which are added their relatives, friends and close people, who "have the continuous impression that they are being forgotten, reminding them only when necessary their services".
