He calls Truss an "incompetent and mediocre Russophobe" and predicts the failure of his government

MADRID, 7 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The vice president of the Russian Security Council, Dimitri Medvedev, has criticized the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, after his statements in which he called Russia a "fascist regime" and has advocated "not returning to shake hands."

The Russian representative has taken the opportunity to accuse Borrell of having a "closed mind" and has stressed that "no one should ever forget these things", referring to a statement that he considers "disgusting".

"This official must be on the permanent list of people who do not shake hands and who do not have the right to be forgiven," Medvedev said in a post on his Telegram social network channel.

Borrell called on Monday for unity among the members of the European Union against the "fascist regime" in Russia, in the midst of the escalation in energy prices, assuring that European values will "wobble" if the interests of the Member States collide. in response to Moscow.

These words have aroused criticism from the Russian authorities, who have even asked for the transcript of the speech to check what the High Representative said, although they say that Brussels has not responded to their request, according to the TASS news agency. .

On the other hand, Medvedev has predicted that the new British Prime Minister, Liz Truss, "will fight with everyone, fail in everything and leave in disgrace, like her predecessor", ironically that the United Kingdom is "famous for its traditions", and the failure of their heads of government seems to be a new one of them.

Thus, the vice president of the Russian Security Council has made his own profile of Truss, where he has defined her as "incompetent and mediocre thermonuclear Russophobe, who has no elementary ideas about politics, history or geography, but wants to defeat Russia in everything".

Truss took office on Tuesday to replace Boris Johnson, who tendered his resignation as British prime minister in early July amid a political crisis that ended up erupting with the resignation of dozens of senior officials.

This same Wednesday the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, has shown his confidence that relations between the United Kingdom and Russia "will not worsen" with the arrival of Truss to the Government.
