MADRID, 13 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev has reached number one in the ATP ranking on Monday, unseating Serbian Novak Djokovic, who falls to third place, while Spaniard Rafa Nadal remains in fourth place on the list.

The 2,000 points that the Balkan has given up, who has not managed to defend his Roland Garros title -which ended a week later in 2021-, have made him give up two positions (6,770 points), and for the third week since the beginning of 2020 he has not will be at the top of the ranking.

Meanwhile, Medvedev (7,950 points) rises to the top for the fourth time in his career, all despite losing on Sunday in the final of the tournament in 's-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands) against the Dutchman Tim Van Rijthoven. German Alexander Zverev (7,075) also rises to number two.

For his part, Nadal consolidates himself in fourth place (6,525) 245 points behind Djokovic, and the Norwegian Casper Ruud (5,050), a victim of the Balearic Islands in the final in Paris, closes the 'Top 5' by snatching the position from the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (4,945).

Carlos Alcaraz from Murcia (4,893) continues in seventh place and has not moved this week, nor has Pablo Carreño from Asturias (19) and Roberto Bautista from Castellón (20).
