Mediaset Spain raises profit by 11.2% until June with 95 million

Mediaset España has increased its net profit by 11.2% up to June with 95 million euros, thanks to a pronounced growth in the second quarter driven by content sales.

The firm has fallen 2% in income in the first semester with 415.2 million euros due to the reduction in billing through advertising, which has been 5%, according to the financial report presented this Thursday in the Commission National Stock Market.

The television group has offset part of this drop with a 10.3% reduction in operating costs and the growth of other businesses, a segment that has grown by 30.5% thanks to the fact that content sales to other platforms have multiplied by 1.5.

Thus, the firm has obtained a gross operating profit (Ebitda) of 106 million euros, which represents a fall of 6.1% compared to the same period last year, although this indicator has grown by 16.5% in the second trimester.

After the close of the financial year, Media For Europe (MFE) consummated its takeover bid (OPA) for the group and came to control 82.9% of the capital of Mediaset España. The objective of the 'holding' is to exclude it from the Spanish stock market.
