JJpD will meet with the president of the Senate to convey his concern about the lack of renewal of the CGPJ

MADRID, 15 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The association Judges and Judges for Democracy (JJpD) will meet on November 24 with the president of the Senate, Ander Gil, to convey their concern about the "institutional deterioration" that has led to the "prolonged" situation of a General Council of the Judicial Power (CGPJ) in office for almost four years.

This has been stated in a statement, in which he trusts that by then the CGPJ will have been renewed and that the meeting will focus on other relevant aspects, such as how to achieve greater transparency in the process to designate its members or possible solutions to prevent "prolonged interim situations like the ones we are experiencing from recurring".

In addition, the representatives who will attend the meeting will put on the table the concern of this association for the problems that citizens and professionals suffer due to deficiencies in the administration of justice, such as the delay in holding judicial proceedings or the overload of work of some courts.

The resolutions of the last Congresses of Judges for Democracy that propose legislative reforms aimed at improving the democratic quality of our institutional system will also be delivered to the President of the Senate.
