MADRID, 7 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Japanese authorities have reported this Friday that they have expanded the list of sanctions against Russia for the invasion of Ukraine and have added another 81 individuals and nine organizations linked to the country.

The Japanese Ministry of Finance has indicated in a statement that the sanctions include several relatives of the Russian Prime Minister, Mijail Mishustin, of the Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, as well as other senior government officials and Russian leaders, such as the Chechen Ramzan Kadirov. .

The document notes that 23 people have been sanctioned for their involvement in the annexation of Donetsk, Lugansk, Jershon and Zaporiyia regions in eastern Ukraine. The list includes in turn Vladimir Rogov, member of the Administrative Council of the Zaporiyia region and Sergei Eliseev, head of the Jershon Civic-Military Administration.

Among the affected organizations are the Rostec corporation, the Ruselectronics firm and companies such as UEC-Klimov JSC, among others.

The Japanese government first imposed sanctions against Russia in late September. Tokyo later added another 21 Russian companies to the list and banned the export of "chemical weapons"-related goods to the country.

The authorities have condemned the annexation of territories by Russia and have stressed that Japan will continue to cooperate with the members of the G7 and the international community to impose new sanctions packages against Moscow.
