Japan denounces that five Chinese missiles have fallen within its Exclusive Economic Zone

MADRID, 4 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government of Japan has denounced this Thursday that five of the nine ballistic missiles launched by the Chinese Army within the framework of a series of military maneuvers have fallen into waters southwest of the island of Hateruma, in Okinawa, within the Economic Zone Japanese exclusive.

The projectiles have fallen in a training area designated by China but which is within the perimeter reserved for Japan for the exploration and use of marine resources, according to the Kyodo news agency.

"This is a serious problem that concerns the national security of our country and the security of the people," Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi has acknowledged, calling the Chinese launches an "extremely coercive" measure.

After this, Tokyo has presented a diplomatic proposal to Beijing and has shown its concern about Chinese military training, announced after the visit of the president of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, to Taiwan.

Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday night as part of a visit that has lasted less than 24 hours but has sparked controversy and has drawn strong criticism from the Chinese government, which considers the island one more province under its sovereignty.
