Irene Montero defends that Podemos is key to the permanence of the coalition and rejects that its cycle is exhausted

He denounces that his adversaries launch attacks through "fake news" and even with "political violence"

The Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, has defended that "there is no greater lie" than to say that the cycle of Podemos is "exhausted" and has defended that the formation is a guarantee of "permanence and stability" of the coalition Executive.

In this way, he has criticized that his "adversaries" are aware that Podemos is one of the sectors of "deepening democracy" and, consequently, they try to attack them with the "noise speech", with "fake news" and even with "political violence".

This is how she expressed it during her speech at the round table 'Is feminism useful for crises?', within the framework of the summer courses at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and within the forum organized by the purple formation 'La war that changed everything: energy sovereignty, geopolitics and new rights'.

The head of Equality has stressed that it is important to "take care" of the coalition from the commitment to courageous and progressive policies, which make the Executive different from the previous stage of bipartisanship by placing feminism, tax reform or care at the center.

In this sense, he has warned that the fundamental objective of the "reactionary sectors" for the next electoral cycle is that Podemos is not part of the Government and to exercise politics and institutional power in order to achieve social transformations.

In this way, the also secretary of Government Action of Podemos has argued that they are experiencing a "profoundly ideological moment", with a crisis of neoliberalism that began in 2008 and is still open, and where it is more relevant than ever to confront political projects.

"The ideological strength of a project is not incompatible with consensus. In fact, we are at the best time to turn the ideological strength of a project into a consensus that says yes, there must be strong public services, of public companies so that they do not take the hair who are lining their pockets", Montero has lectured.

In addition, the minister has claimed that "no one like Podemos has fought" more for the existence of a coalition Executive and that this formation is a guarantee of the deployment of feminist initiatives that are "up to the democratizing demands", being a useful tool for the transforming movement.

Therefore, he has proclaimed that saying that the institutional and political role of Podemos is "exhausted", to the extent that the 15M movement is also, is the "greatest of lies", especially when they are showing that no one like the left takes care of what "is common" to all.

Moreover, she has argued that feminism has the main answers to this moment of international crisis, where (Vladimir) Putin's invasion of Ukraine is one more step.

On the other hand, he has said that feminism is at the center of the political culture of his formation and has reproached that PP and Vox do not have political proposals for the country.
