Industrial prices in Germany moderate their rise in June to 32.7%

MADRID, 20 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The industrial producer price index (PPI) of Germany registered a year-on-year rise of 32.7% last June, compared to the record increase of 33.6% in the month of May, according to the Federal Statistical Office ( Destatis).

In June, energy prices increased by 86.1% year-on-year as a result of higher natural gas prices (141.1%), while electricity prices increased by 93.3%.

Excluding the impact of energy price volatility, industrial inflation in Germany in June was 15.5% compared to the same month in 2021.

On the other hand, the prices of intermediate goods increased by 22.3% year-on-year, including a rise in metal prices of 33.6% compared to June 2021.

In turn, non-durable consumer goods increased by 14.7% compared to June 2021, with food prices increasing by 19%.

In the case of durable consumer goods, prices increased by 10.5% compared to June 2021, mainly due to the evolution of furniture prices (13.4%), while the prices of consumer goods capital rose 7.4%, their biggest rise since September 1975.
